Wharton Hazard Mitigation- Phase 1 receives 100% Federal Funding

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced July 5 how it will allocate billions of dollars for more flood-mitigation efforts. Of the allocations announced July 5, the largest portion is more than $13.9 billion for the construction of nearly 60 projects to reduce damage from floods and storms across multiple states and Puerto Rico. Texas projects account for nearly $4.88 billion:
Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay: nearly $3.96 billion
Clear Creek: $295.165 million
Dallas Floodway: more than $222.91 million
Lewisville Dam: nearly $91.96 million
Brays Bayou: $75 million
Lower Colorado River Phase 1 (Wharton): $73.29 million
Hunting Bayou: $65 million
Dallas Floodway Extension: $53 million
White Oak Bayou: $45 million
Buffalo Bayou and Tributaries: more than $1.45 million
